Q1 Do students travel to China independently or as a group, and what support is provided for international travel and arrival?

International flights are not included in the programme fee, so parents and guardians are required to book their child's flights to and from China. We support families at every stage of the journey.

Before travel

• We will provide clear pre-travel guidance on booking, transit, arrival and departure procedures.

• We will put families of students on the same routes in touch, so students can travel together where possible.

• Flight details must be sent to the programme team by deadline communiocated to you by the Programme Director. If your child's flight falls outside the arrival or departure windows, please contact us before booking.

Arrival

• Students should arrive at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN) during the designated arrival window

• Elite Journey staff will meet every student in the arrivals hall and take them to the group's four-star hotel in scheduled group transfers.

• We will let parents know when their child has been met at the airport.

Departure

• Return flights should depart from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN).

• Staff will take students to the airport in scheduled group transfers based on flight times. They will stay with students until they have checked in and are heading through to security.

• We will let parents know when their child has checked in. Parents and guardians are responsible for meeting their child on arrival in the UK.

Please note

• Unaccompanied minor services. Airline rules for young people travelling alone vary, and some airlines require or offer an escort service for under-16s. Please check with your airline when booking, and tell us if your child is using this service so our staff can hand them over to airline staff.

• Changes to dates. Late arrivals and early departures must be agreed with the programme team in advance, and are not eligible for a refund. Extra nights in China are not included in the fee.

• Collection by family in China. If you plan to collect your child in China at the end of the programme, please tell us in advance. Students will only be released to adults named on the enrolment form, and ID will be checked.

From arrival in China until departure, Elite Journey is fully responsible for students' care and supervision.

Q2 Will students need a visa, and will you support families with the visa process?

UK passport holders can currently enter China visa-free. We don't offer a formal visa service, but we can provide an invitation letter and relevant documents to support your visa application if needed. Students who require a visa are advised to begin visa applications in good time before travel.
